The Dubai Museum

Want to experience the history of Dubai?
The Dubai Museum is the place to go.
it’s one of the oldest museums in Dubai and was originally housed in a fort that was built in 1787 to guard the Dubai Creek. It has since moved to a new location, but it still houses many artifacts from Emirati life over the centuries.
Among their collection are old maps of the Emirates and Dubai, as well as weapons and other items used by locals in times past. The museum also offers guided tours for those who wish to learn more about Emirati culture.

Dubai Creek

Dubai Creek is a creek that divides the city into two towns, Deira and Bar Dubai in North and South respectively. It is an important part of Dubai’s history and one of the few tiny remnants of their economic history. You get to see the Dhow Wharfage where the dhows dock to load and unload their goods after their travels.

The Creek is also home to a number of historical buildings such as the Al Fahidi Fort, which was built in 1799 and was once used as a prison; Al Bastakiya or Bastakiya Village, which was built in 1793; and Al Rasheed Street, which was named after a famous ruler who ruled over Dubai before it became a British Protectorate.

This building has hosted many celebrities including Brad Pitt, Madonna and Tom Cruise who were all treated to the ultimate experience at this hotel.
